October - Fall Foliage Month
 
 
2nd - The Annual Fall Celebration will feature Jazz on the Cumberland, The Quilt Show, and Storytelling, along with a Blacksmith Festival.  Lunch will be served in the Sutton Store Dining Room and Lunch Counter along with the other area businesses including the Granville Market and The Granville Marina.

3:10 PM - The Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains
They are located at McGhee Tyson Air Base near Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Band is the official musical ambassador for the Tennessee Air National Guard.
 
The Commander and Conductor of the Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains is Major Roger Mills.

The mission of the Band, is to support military and civilian functions, to perform at activities involving Department of Defense community relations projects, and to support local Air Force and Air National Guard recruiting.

The Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains has performed for the Air Force Thunderbirds, the Navy Blue Angels, numerous Governors' Inaugural Ceremonies, as well as civilian and military performances in over 30 states, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.

The musicians are excited about the opportunity to perform, and take great pride in their ability to offer a wide variety of musical programming. Concerts typically include: traditional concert band pieces, military marches, patriotic selections, rock, jazz and country/western selections.


 2nd - The Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit "Journey Stories" to begin at the Granville Museum

2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th - Sutton Ole Time Music Hour each Saturday night from 6:00 - 8:00 with family-style meals served at 5:00 and 6:30 with reservations.

November - Celebrating Holiday Traditions
 
12th - 14th - Christmas Open House - The T.B. Sutton General Store and Granville Gifts and Bank Museum will be open and ready to get you started with the holiday season.

13th - Last day for Smithsonian Traveling "Journey Stories" at the Granville Museum

14th - "Sunday after Church" Holiday Lunch to be served at the Sutton General Store in the dining room at 12:15 and 1:15 with reservations.

6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th - Sutton Ole Time Music Hour each Saturday night from 6:00 - 8:00 with family-style meals served at 5:00 and 6:30 with reservations featuring Thanksgiving menus.

27th - Meet the UCAA featured artist for November, and be able to purchase signed original work from one of the area's finest artists working in an array of media.


December - Christmas in Granville

 3rd, 9th, and 10th - The Sutton Store Christmas Dinner Plays featuring the Granville Players in "A Granville Christmas Carol" based on The Charles Dickens Novel. There will be a 5:30 or 7:30 seating each evening with reservations being required.  A traditional holiday meal with drink and dessert will be served for a cost of $16.00 per person.
 
4th, 11th & 18th - Sutton Ole Time Music Hour each Saturday night from 6:00 - 8:00 with family-style meals served at 5:00 and 6:30 with reservations.  Special Christmas Bluegrass shows will be featured all month before Christmas.

11th - The 12th Annual Granville Country Christmas where we celebrate the Christmas Season in style with "Christmas Trees of the Past" and refreshments at the Granville Museum, lunch and gifts of our nostalgic past at the Sutton Store, with storytelling and a day of remembering while touring the tiny little town of Granville with its unique Granville Gifts and Bank Museum, visiting each place of history with Christmas music in the air and the bells ringing at the historic Granville Methodist Church.

18th - Meet the UCAA featured artist for December, and be able to purchase signed original work from one of the area's finest artists working in an array of media.


Special Note:  Groups may reserve dates and times for tours of Granville and/or lunch or dinner at the Sutton General Store by calling (931) 653-4151. Due to the magnitude of the day's events, The Annual Heritage Day Celebration on May 29th, The Annual Fall Festival on October 2nd, and The Annual Country Christmas in Granville on December 11th dates are NOT available for personalized group luncheons or guided tours.
